On the day of our country's independence, we have a ton of photographs of the progress of our house so I am splitting the entry into two sections; the second to follow directly the first.

Today, the contractor announced that he expects to get occupancy for us in 2 1/2 weeks. That would put us in our house by about the 20th. I do not think I gave him the overjoyed response he was expecting though. There is still quite a bit to be done, especially with the stairs. I certainly hope he is right, but I think I will wait to pop the champagne cork until we actually have the signature from the City of Santa Barbara, especially since my personal experience with the City of Santa Barba...

Yesterday's blog did not do justice to all that has been accomplished in the house for the past week, so I am catching up with everything I have left out now....

The kitchen installation continues with an appliance and faucets and the electrician prepares for actual electricity!

The granite counter tops for the kitchen have arrived and are starting to be fitted.
