As the house gets so much closer to being finished (I know we are still about four months away but that is a drop in the bucket compared to the 25 months we have already been waiting), Peter and I have starting to fill in the interior spaces. Yep, we have starting buying things to put in our new house. In particular, Peter placed a huge furniture order yesterday to replace most of the furniture from our old house. The majority of our furniture will arrive from LodgeCraft in Montana. We didn't order all the pieces shown on the page though. And yes, all the furniture will match because Peter likes it that way (and since he is paying, he gets to do it his way!!!!!).
For the smaller items, the dishes, kitchen utensils, sheets, towels, etc, we have started a "wedding registry". No, we are not getting married, but I thought the registry would be a good idea because you all know how much I LOVE to shop. So with the registry, I can walk around the store with the registry gun for as long as I can stand to shop and then I can stop and continue another day! I figure by the time the house is done, I will have added most things we will need to start living in our brand new house. Hopefully, I don't get too carried away with that gun thingy!
The one item we have left to order are the couches. We have been to Ethan Allen and have picked out the couch, but not the upholstery for the couch. According to the saleswoman, we need to order the couch 12 weeks in advance so we will be going back to order the couch and decide on upholstery in early January.
We are getting very excited and we want to have everything ready to move in when the house is done. Peter, in fact, wants the whole house furnished and complete with any art pieces within a week of the completion of the house. I am not convinced that is a reasonable wish, but obviously, he is working on it by placing all the furniture orders as of yesterday!! Whoo hoo, it is time to shop!
