The kitchen has gotten a lot of attention today.

Many of the final pieces have been put in the kitchen today.  An overview shows we now have the granite piece and the glass bar on the island.

A closer view of the island in the kitchen starts to show how the glass bar top fits on the island.

The glass bar top is held above the granite with three legs.  The legs are bolted to the granite, but are glued to the glass with a UV curing epoxy so there are no holes in the glass top.

From this angle, you can see that there are no holes in the glass top.  Peter had a lean on the bar top to see if it would hold.  It did hold, but there was considerable flexing across the glass piece as Peter put weight on it!

On the back wall of the kitchen, the tiling is now complete and the pot filler has been placed in the granite countertop.  The pot filler is not actually installed yet, but we can see how it is going to look and work.

Now all we need is the stove top......that is going to be installed on Thursday with the rest of the appliances.

The crevasse sink in the island was also finished today.  With the placement of the granite on the island, they could now install the switch which controls the water and garbage disposal in the crevasse sink.  The switch is a nice flat touch pad with two controls; one just turns on the water flow and the other turns on the water then the garbage disposal automatically.

An action shot with the water flowing down the crevasse sink.  The water actually flows from below the lip of the sink so it does not require any faucet.  The switch also lights up blue when the water is on but it is hard to see in the photograph.

Art and Jose continue to work on setting the glass for the amazing sweeping staircase as well.  Although this is critical work toward finishing the house, the photographs are not very exciting as it looks the same as it did in the last entry.
