This last week has been a bit wet, but the contractor continues to move forward.  We have more windows, more framing, and a fireplace!

The fireplace has been installed.  It is covered at the moment to protect it while the rest of the construction goes on, but it is in

and the chimney has been built (it is a bit hard to see but it is the silver tube that runs upward from the left side of the fireplace)

While the fireplace man was installing the fireplace, the window installers were putting in more windows.  We now have the windows above the garage which shed light into the master closet and bathroom,

The first one is in the closet, the wide one will be just above the claw foot bath, and the last one is in the shower. 

The windows above the front door have also been installed.  The plywood below the windows will be replaced by a single etched glass window so this whole section of wall will be windows. 

This wall of windows is also directly across from the living room wall of windows so as you walk up to the front of the house, you will actually be able to see directly through the house to Parma Park!

In the last blog, I showed the initial framing of the windows of the circular stairs which run from the living room to the hobby room.  Those frames have now been opened up in preparation for the windows.

Shimmy and his gang have also returned this week to frame up the remainder of the hobby and media rooms.  We now have framing for the screen wall in the media room which will eventually hide all our water tanks....

They also have completed the external wall of the hobby room

and have attached framing to the cement walls of the hobby room and the landing of the circular stairs

It also ends up that we were not actually finished with running cables and although Peter tried to run some during the week, there were too many contractor types around this week and he didn't want to get in their way so we will return this weekend to do some more cabling.   yippee..
