Framing continues to proceed today.  Of course, one of the most critical pieces of framing is connecting the joints.  These joint details are what holds it all together.  In our house, we have connections between multiple different materials because our architects designed us a magnificent, but challenging, house!

We have wood and steel connections which require placing the wood joist in a cup welded to the steel column,

wood and cement connections which require brackets with a cup to hold the beams bolted to the cement,

(some brackets are bigger than others)

and wood to wood connections which require the use of floor joist hangers.

And making all these connections possible is John, our super framing contractor, shown here working on positioning the joists for the back deck. 

He is the one who is now holding it all together....
