Chapter 3

So I took a bunch of video of the bottom half of the staircase coming out of the truck, down the front steps, and into the house.  Unfortunately, I took the video in the wrong aspect ratio so, at this time, it is not in a format to be uploaded anywhere.   Whoops!

Between the videos, I did take a few photographs of the bottom half as it was unloaded.  They are few and far between, however, so this blog entry will be a little disjointed.....

The bottom half of the staircase on the ground...

The wood railings for the staircase were packed in bubble wrap and threaded into the curve of the bottom of the staircase.  Before the guys carried the bottom half of the staircase into the house, these railings were taken out of the staircase

and individually placed on the floor of the living room next to the top half of the stairs.

Once they had removed as much extra weight as they could, the guys prepared to move this section of stairs.

Here would be a good place to insert the video, if I had it as it shows the progress of the stairs from the street (photograph above) to the living room (photograph below).

Anyway, the bottom half of the stairs also made it through the front door and will live here on the floor until the Arcways representative arrives to help install them.....

They are truly awesome!  Here is another view of both pieces.

Again, the bottom half...

A view of the amazing sweeping staircase from the construction stairs....

and from the landing upstairs.

Just one last view of the rotunda which will house the amazing sweeping staircase (so we have a record of what it looked like before the stairs were installed).
