It is going to be a white Christmas this year!

Like the transformation of a lush green lawn to a white wonderland with the first snow, the inside of our house has transformed from series of dark rooms with green walls to a series of bright rooms with white walls with the completion of painting the walls with primer to seal in the Copper Napthanate spray.

Our bright master bedroom

the bright new study,

and our kitchen.

The rotunda which defines the amazing sweeping staircase is now accentuated with bright white primer!

Another architectural feature of our house, the monolith wall that contains the fireplace, is even more impressive in white.

Although all the walls look white through and through, the painters actually wrapped all the electrical wires, the plumbing, and the audio/visual cabling before they spray painted.  Below you can see some of the brown paper they used for wrapping the wires they didn't want to paint.  Nothing like having the home owner create loads of extra work for the subcontractors!

Peter was asking me the other day what size video screen I want in the media room.   I said, "As big as possible!"   The painters have now given Peter an idea of what I meant.  This is the wall of the media room that will house the screen, and I think that the white area might just be a big enough area for the screen.

I just thought this next photograph was cool because it shows the distinct contrast between the white walls and the fresh lumber that was not painted.

With the primer all applied, we are now ready for insulation and drywall (I know I sound like a broken record, but this time it is really going to happen!).  The insulation installation is scheduled for Monday the 20th.  Then the blog will really take off again!
