I really don't know whether to call these the amazing sweeping stairs, or the circular stairs, or the crown jewel of our new house.   What I do know is that we are tremendously excited about seeing the stairs go in, especially since the entire house was designed around this element.   Today, the framer, John, and his crew have started to create the exterior wall for these stairs.

From the exterior of the house, the framing is shown in better light.  Three different shots were needed to document the entire height of the wall (although there is some overlap..)

I tried to get the whole staircase wall in one shot, but it is too tall!!!!!

Heading back up to the second floor (I am still excited about being able to do that), the sweeping staircase wall towers over the steel columns! A view from the master bathroom....

Standing on the catwalk and looking down, you can see the stairs that lead from the main floor to the lower floor

and again, the lower flight of stairs this time from the study floor.

For now, we have a clear line of sight from the second floor (in the study) all the way down to the last few stairs of the lower staircase.

If you think this is a lot of pictures of the stairs, believe me, I was restrained on how many photographs I published here.  I have about sixty others that I have left out.  And consider that this is just the wall of the staircase, wait until we actually see the real stairs!!!!!
