Big deliveries today!!!!

The kitchen and study cabinets arrived today in a Cabinets 2000 truck.  This one in fact

and are being stored in the garage until tomorrow when they will start to install the kitchen cabinets

We pulled open a corner of one of the boxes to check out the finish.  We ordered cherry wood cabinets with a natural finish and it is a beautiful finish, but kind of hard to see while the cabinets are still in the box.

Also delivered today was the clawfoot bathtub for the master bathroom!

It has cool feet!

While the guys offloaded the cabinets and bathtub, the interior doors have been removed from their respective jambs and are being sanded and stained

Peter found that the door between the kitchen and pantry has shims in the door hinges.  Yes, more shims, Peter's favorite!

You can see that the shim is installed very carefully with a piece of painter's tape.  We called down Sean, one of the finish carpenters, to show him the (unacceptable) shim and he assures us that the shims are not permanent.

While Sean tries to reassure us about the shims, the tile guys continue to waterproof the master bathroom by putting down the next membrane.  Here we see two of the tile guys finishing the corners of the curb that outlines the shower.

The corner at the outside wall of the shower has an extra layer of blue waterproof membrane

The waterproofing membrane covers the entire floor and then turns up the wall to create a "pan" effect.

Besides doing a lot of work in the bathroom, these tile guys and plumbers have another thing in common.  Can you figure out what that is from the photograph below?
