More Stucco

The brown coat of stucco has been started.    Again, this is applied by hand with Strong Man at the mixer and buckets of brown hauled on various shoulders.

The entire front of the house has been completed (with the exception of the area directly around the front door, see below)

A little closer view of the garage exterior wall, the exterior of the master bathroom (above the garage), and the front entryway.

The front entryway (on the right) and the exterior front wall of the guest bathroom (first floor) and the study (second floor)

This layer of stucco is the thickest layer and a view of the corners of the building demonstrates that with this brown coat, the thickness of the stucco has been brought out to cover the wire mesh that protects each corner.

The stucco for the area directly around the front door has not yet been applied because the front door has not yet been installed.  There was a little hiccup with the copper door pan (it took longer to manufacture than we expected). But the door pan is here now and has been set at the bottom of the door frame

and the actual door frame has moved from the garage into the dining room in preparation for installation tomorrow

The drywall process has also taken a "step" forward.  The construction stairs have been removed from the catwalk and rebuilt (or at least resupported) so they are freestanding and the drywall can be installed on the edge of the catwalk.

Let me tell you, the little piece of plywood that spans across from the landing at the top of the construction stairs to the catwalk is pretty sketchy!!  But all personnel are protected by handrails at every point on the staircase so it meets OSHA standards.
