So far, we have been pretty lucky as far as the weather goes, but in this year of massive rain (at least for Santa Barbara), we should have known we would get caught at least once.  Here is the site, with the various levels of grade already formed, covered in plastic to prevent as much erosion as possible from the upcoming rains.

From the top, the first cut will be where the garage and front garden will be located, the second cut will be where the kitchen, dining area, and guest room will be located, and the third cut (not covered) will be where the media and hobby room are located.

Here, it is obvious that the fire, unfortunately, has not changed the slope of the site....
