Our finish carpenter recovered from the devastating event yesterday and has fit much of the upper handrail for the amazing sweeping staircase and upstairs catwalk.

He started from the top with the straight pieces which were probably easier.  Now he has to face the curved descending portion of the stairs......

In the garage, the steel reinforcement for the floor has been laid out.  Originally, the contractor thought we didn't need this (apparently the concrete they use now has reinforcement integrated in it), but according to our plans, we have steel.  Peter is much happier with this.  Although, he still wants it lifted off the floor before they pour the four inches of concrete.  

Bring on the concrete!
