So exciting!

The fireplace has now been mudded (if that is actually a term).  A view from the living room of the newly mudded fireplace.

And a view from the kitchen of the newly mudded fireplace.  If you ignore the blue tape, the ladder, the lack of floor, and the scaffolding, it looks somewhat like it will when the house is done.  I know I am reaching here, but I am ready for construction to be done.....

Although the fireplace is in place and has been drywalled and mudded, it is still not producing any heat so Peter is still walking around the house in his giant red down coat.

Peter says it is very, very cold.... and it really is....

The drywall guys continue to mud the place, even as their fingers go numb from cold....

All the in between parts of the wall of windows in the living room are also now mudded (it is hard to see in the photograph, but I like this photograph, so tough.  Actually, you can tell that between each row of windows is a solid color).

The view from the master bedroom door looking over the living room.  This photograph is a bit lighter so it is easier to see that the wall areas around the windows are actually covered in mud, again giving a good idea of how it will look in the end (minus the scaffolding, ladder, blue tape, and stickers all over the windows).

In some areas, it appears that the mudders are going mad, slapping mud on willy nilly!   In the study, where the ceiling comes down to a 'V', tons of mud has been applied to level the edge of the 'V' to the rest of the ceiling.  This has resulted in a thick layer of mud with pock marks, divets, and general slop.  You can imagine some of the terms Peter has used to describe what you see below.  I have been unsuccessful in assuring him that this will not be the final finish!

Here is a photograph of the 'V' of the ceiling in the study just after the drywall was put up.

And a close up (or two) of the first application of mud in this area.

It does look messy, but many parts of this construction process have started out messy......
